One is a supernatural burst of Brazilian opal, white gold, green tourmaline and pink spinels, while the Vatna transforms into a shorter necklace and a pair of earrings

Nature-inspired jewellery is one of the hottest trends this season, and Cartier is paying an exquisite homage to elements like water, flora and fauna with its [Sur]Naturel high jewellery pieces. A mystical mix of wilderness and fantasy, the collection offers statement pieces crafted in white gold or platinum and studded with the most precious diamonds, emeralds, sapphires, coral, opal, beryl and quartz. (They might even be as dazzling as Princess Diana’s famous collection.)

Among the new jewellery pieces, there is a gorgeous necklace in white gold, which stands out for its brilliant play of colours and a 2.82-carat cabochon-cut light opal from Brazil. Adorned with a 4.07-carat modified pear-shaped rose-cut diamond right on top of the opal, the necklace is speckled with pink spinels and green tourmaline beads shining on a row of brilliant-cut diamonds.

The other highlight of the collection is the Vatna necklace set in platinum and decked with a central 21.11-carat emerald-cut diamond pendant. A highly versatile piece, the necklace can be worn with or without the centre stones. While the lower half can be detached and worn as a shorter necklace, the side centre stones can be worn as earrings. If you really want to experiment with the look, the central motif on the matching platinum diamond ring can even be interchanged with the centre stone on the necklace.

Another standout statement ring features a 21.44-carat cabochon-cut sapphire from Kashmir, juxtaposed with cabochon-cut emeralds. Surrounded by an array of shield-shaped diamonds, tapered diamonds and brilliant-cut diamonds, it truly stands out as a colourful rendition of high jewellery art.
