Whether meeting world leaders at the G20 summit, or travelling on Air Force one with her father to Asian summits with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, Ivanka Trump – daughter of US President Donald Trump – plays an active role in high-level political life.
Before becoming an adviser to her father, Ivanka was a fashion businesswoman with her eponymous label.
The 37-year-old walked out of her Washington DC house in the exact same forest green dress that another fashion powerhouse – the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton – had worn in Britain in January. That left us wondering (as Sex and the City’s Carrie Bradshaw used to ponder), who would win this style race?
First, it’s no big deal for us to wear the same clothes. But the first daughter lives in a world where even if your stylist is on maternity leave, you maintain your standards sartorially speaking.
The sought-after dress comes from British brand Beulah. Ivanka, 1.8 metres tall, flaunted her long legs with the high-slit design, paired with nude PVC pumps and a mid-sized handbag. Sporting a shortened blond hairstyle since early September, Ivanka transformed herself into an even more formidable female.
Ivanka donned the design in a sexy and powerful way. By contrast, Kate Middleton showed a much softer side. In January, she revealed the dress on her work visit to Family Action Lewisham, an institution that provides practical, emotional and financial support to families and children in need. The duchess elegantly matched the dress with a similar toned clutch and suede pumps. She finished the look with a cinched leather belt and Kiki McDonough drop earrings.
