  • The second month of winter in the northern hemisphere brings us into the penultimate solar month of the Chinese calendar year, which is ruled by the Wood Rat, lasting from December 8 to January 5
  • Some famous Rats include Richard Nixon, William Shakespeare, Mark Zuckerberg, Robert Redford, Eminem, Cristiano Ronaldo and Ozzy Osbourne, and the sign is known for being ambitious and wise – oh so wise!

Everyone is born with special stars in their birth chart – and they can be activated during certain years, months and days.

Chinese astrology is based upon the following three theories and principles: a combination of yin-yang, the five elements – Fire, Earth, Metal, Water and Wood – and the 12 animals of the zodiac. The astrological feng shui month follows the solar system, therefore it runs from the middle of the first week of one month to the next, usually between the fifth to eighth of each month.

Energy of the Rat: Ambition, honesty, compassion, survival

The Rat corresponds to the hours between: 11pm – 1am

People born in the midnight hour have a disposition to follow nocturnal occupations – watchmen are alert, scholars study books, and astronomers gaze at the sky. They may appear distant and secretive to others, but they are truly wise.

In this unpredictable month, it pays to be logical and consistent, adopting a good strategy whilst staying vigilant to protect against danger in this fast and furious energetic festive month.

As the Gregorian year draws to a close, look back at how far you have come and what you have achieved in 2023. Many will have faced challenges and bumps along the path, resulting in massive changes in their careers, as it’s becoming very evident in my work that one of Covid-19’s legacies is to gain a better work-life balance.

Celebrate winter solstice on December 21 by opening your heart to make it a transformational and motivating month! This is a time for renewal, to shed our skins that are no longer relevant. Remember: no matter what troubles you may face, always try to help others along the way, work towards your goals, remain focused and show gratitude.
