All-white, alright: the celebs leading the white clothes trend – from Kate Middleton, Pink and Kate Winslet’s red carpet looks, to Lewis Hamilton and Pharrell Williams’ big Louis Vuitton drop
- British designers Wales Bonner and Stella McCartney styled Hamilton and Anderson respectively, while Hong Kong-born designer Robert Wun dressed Pink
- Chow Yun-fat and wife Jasmine Tan got on the trend at Pharrell’s Louis Vuitton show in Hong Kong, while stars from Stormzy and Song Joong-ki have also rocked all-white at winter events
Who says you can’t wear white after Labour Day? The old unwritten rule that white outfits and shoes are only for summer is clearly a thing of the past.
Hamilton’s overcoat, T-shirt and trousers, accessorised with his signature jewellery, came courtesy of British label Wales Bonner, while Stella McCartney, another British designer, was behind the chic cream jacket, also paired with a simple tee and slacks, that Anderson wore.
At the Vogue World event, held in London in September, Oscar-winning actress Kate Winslet wore a double-breasted jacket over a bustier lingerie top paired with matching palazzo trousers from Dundas.
For a more adventurous take on the all-white tailored trend, look no further than Pink. At the iHeartRadio Music Awards in Los Angeles in March, the American singer/songwriter looked great in a white blazer with slit sleeves paired with flared pleated trousers and an overskirt, all from London-based, Hong Kong-born designer Robert Wun.
White was also colour of choice for actors Chow Yun-fat and Song Joong-ki, who sported tailored separates at the Louis Vuitton men’s pre-autumn 2024 show held in Hong Kong in December. The collection was designed by recently appointed men’s creative director Pharrell Williams, who took his bow at the end of the runway in a white double-breasted cropped jacket and matching trousers.
