Three different-sized offerings are available in four hues – coral, slate, sage and saffron – inspired by natural shades seen in England, Indonesia, Australia and Italy

What colour is your summer? Rimowa has released its first new collection of coloured suitcases for the Rimowa Essential line.

Perfect for the holidays, the four distinct colours offer a fun, fresh alternative this season to Rimowa’s trademark aluminium grey.

The polycarbonate coloured suitcases, which comprise coral, slate, sage and saffron, are not made with your generic factory colour samples; Rimowa derived these hues from aerial geographic views to give a unique, premium visual identity to the new essentials.

Rimowa used the green shades of the Lake District in Northeast England to create the unique sage colour, while another shade, saffron, was inspired by the yellow Canola flowers of the Tuscany countryside in Italy

The carefully considered colours also promote Rimowa's philosophy of purposeful travel, encouraging both loyal and new customers to stretch the creative and physical limits of their journey.

The aerial view colour samples were collected from across three continents, particularly in their more remote regions, celebrating the remarkable palette of the natural world.

The bubbly coral was inspired by the Pink Lake in Western Australia. The lake is an incredible pink hue because of its salinity. Other salt-rich lakes have a similar hue, like Lake Hillier, also in Western Australia, or Lake Retba in Senegal.
