The journalist quizzed Republican Senator Bernie Moreno about the US leader praising Elon Musk’s car brand and asked national security adviser Mike Waltz about Trump’s role in the Russia-Ukraine War

President Donald Trump has labelled senior Fox News reporter Jacqui Heinrich an “absolutely terrible” reporter after she criticised his recent Tesla promotion on the White House Lawn. Tesla delivered five vehicles, including a Cybertruck, to the White House for Trump to personally inspect. The president said he planned to buy one.

“Was that an appropriate thing for the president to do there?” Heinrich asked during an interview on Fox News with Ohio Republican Senator Bernie Moreno on March 16.

On the same show, Heinrich questioned Trump’s relationship with Russian President Vladimir Putin in an interview with Trump’s national security adviser Mike Waltz.

Discussing Trump’s role in brokering a ceasefire deal between Ukraine and Russia, the anchor brought up a European intelligence service document that details how the Kremlin could stall ceasefire negotiations.

“How do you know President Trump isn’t being played right now by Putin?” Heinrich asked Waltz, who responded: “That’s almost laughable. I’ll take President Trump in dealing with the likes of Xi, of Kim Jong-un, with Putin and others certainly ahead of his predecessor”, referring to former President Joe Biden.

Trump, who didn’t seem too happy with Heinrich’s criticism of him, took to Truth Social on March 20, writing: “I watched Jacqui Heinrich from Fox over the weekend and I thought she was absolutely terrible. She should be working for CNN, not Fox. Not surprisingly, I later found out that she’s a fan of the White House Correspondents Association!”
