Meet Gary Barlow’s daughters and his giant son: so far they have shunned the limelight in pursuit of academic study and fitness – and firstborn Dan fully looms over his famous dad

The Take That singer typically keeps his loved ones out of the public eye, but a viral Father’s Day post put the spotlight on the ‘Back for Good’ crooner’s family – especially his towering son
Last November on X, Take That fans were in for a surprise thanks to Gary Barlow’s son Dan and his impressive height. According to Buzzfeed, it all started in June when Gary, 53, usually private where family is concerned, shared a Father’s Day family photo as part of an Instagram Story. In it, the singer stands next to Dan, who is significantly taller. When the photo resurfaced on X months later, a user couldn’t help but marvel at the height difference.

The viral tweet, now with seven million views, hilariously noted: “Gary Barlow’s son is scared, he doesn’t know why he’s so big.” Per The Sun, Dan stands at a towering 1.88m (6ft 2in), significantly greater than his father’s reported 1.73m (5ft 8in). In the photo, Dan has his arm around Gary, with mum Dawn and younger sister Daisy standing alongside, making the family snap an instant topic of conversation.
According to The Sun, Gary met his wife, Dawn Andrews, 54, in the 1990s. She was a dancer on Take That’s Nobody Else Tour in 1995 and the pair tied the knot in 2000. A quarter of a century later, their bond is still strong.
And what of their children? They’ve kept things mostly private, but here’s what we know about the Barlow crew.
Daniel, 24
According to MetroUK, Gary and Dawn’s first child, Daniel, was born the same year they married. Fans occasionally catch a glimpse of father-son bonding on Gary’s social media accounts, with the two of them sometimes hitting the gym together. Last year, Gary couldn’t help but gush when Daniel completed his first Ironman contest. He wrote: “We just couldn’t be prouder of our boy – unbelievable amounts of training and determination.”
But it’s not all about the workouts. Per the Daily Mail, Daniel also has serious academic goals and is planning a career in medicine.
