It’s fair to say that there’s been no love lost between new US president Donald Trump and football star and LGBTQ advocate Megan Rapinoe in recent years.

The two have taken public potshots at each other time and again over their opposing political stances, with Trump at one point blaming the US women’s team’s World Cup defeat in 2023 on it being too woke.

Posting on Truth Social at the time, he wrote: “Many of our players were openly hostile to America – no other country behaved in such a manner, or even close. Woke equals failure. Nice shot Megan, the USA is going to Hell!!! Maga.”

Luckily, the now-retired Rapinoe appears to be tuning out the noise and living her best life with her fiancée Sue Bird.
