Meet Lauryn Hill’s son and Bob Marley’s grandson YG Marley: the musician is making a name for himself singing reggae like his famous grandfather and collaborating with artists Davido and Busta Rhymes

Doo Wop (That Thing) singer Lauryn Hill’s son YG Marley is continuing the legacy of his mother and his reggae titan grandfather Bob Marley with hits including ‘Praise Jah in the Moonlight’
The late, great Bob Marley is the undisputed king of reggae. And for music lovers of a certain age, Lauryn Hill, who had a long-term relationship with his son Rohan, is one of the greatest singers of her generation. It should come as no surprise then that their progeny are finding success in the family business.
Hill’s third child, Joshua Omaru Marley, performs as YG Marley and is making a name for himself as a reggae star like his grandfather. Last October he paired up with Nigerian superstar and four-time Grammy nominee Davido on Afrobeats track “Awuke”, and most recently worked with “I Know What You Want” rapper Busta Rhymes on the track “Treasure & Gold”.
His own debut single, “Praise Jah in the Moonlight”, was released in December 2023 and certified platinum at the end of 2024.

So who is YG Marley and what do you need to know about the reggae sensation?
YG Marley is the third of six siblings

He is the proud father of three

In 2021, Marley introduced his first child – a son named Caleb – and in June 2023 posted a photo on Instagram suggesting he’d added twins to his brood. As for the mother’s identity, he’s keeping that private and there’s no word on his current relationship status.
