Real life LA lawyer Matthew Kumar is the latest “normie” to get his happily ever after and join the world of blue bloods, after tying the knot with Princess Theodora of Greece in a royal wedding at the end of September.
According to an official press release shared on the Greek royal family website and the Independent, the Greek Orthodox wedding ceremony took place at the Metropolitan Cathedral of the Annunciation in Athens – the same church where the bride’s parents, King Constantine and Queen Anne-Marie said their vows 60 years ago.
Theodora looked gorgeous in a white bridal bardot gown designed by Celia Kritharioti, according to WWD. She also wore Princess Margaret’s Cartier tiara and a diamond sautoir that once belonged to her great-grandmother, Alexandrine, Queen of Denmark, per the same source.
The newly married couple chose the Greek venue for its culture and familial roots. “The couple’s desire to have their wedding in Athens reflects their love for Greece, the strong ties they maintain with the country and their desire to share Greek culture and hospitality and identity with their guests,” noted the royal family’s statement.
Kumar, 34, and Theodora, 41, have been engaged since 2018, adds UK media.
