Mel Gibson just made a rare appearance with his two youngest children, Lucia, 14, and Lars, seven, at the premiere of Monster Summer in Los Angeles.

The 68-year-old actor brought his daughter, who he shares with ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, and son Lars, who he welcomed with his current girlfriend Rosalind Ross, to the screening of his new film on September 24.

Lucia looked grown up in a strapless red dress, strappy heels and a glittery pouch, while Lars wore a smart white shirt, black trousers and big grin as he posed with his hand on his hip. The children’s famous father was all smiles as he opted for a blue blazer over a crisp white shirt and jeans complete with a pair of comfy-looking black trainers.

Gibson welcomed his second youngest daughter, Lucia, with his ex-girlfriend Oksana Grigorieva, who is a Russian singer-songwriter and pianist. Lucia was born on October 30, 2009, in Los Angeles, per People magazine.

Back in 2010, Grigorieva accused Gibson of hitting her and waving a gun, as shared in an interview on CNN’s Larry King Live. “I thought he would kill me,” Grigorieva told People. “I slapped Oksana one time with an open hand in an attempt to bring her back to reality,” Gibson said in a statement obtained by TMZ. “I did not slap her hard. I was just trying to shock her so that she would stop screaming [and] shaking Lucia back and forth.” Unsurprisingly, after splitting up, Gibson and Grigorieva endured a tumultuous custody and legal battle, notes People.
