Meet Jazz Charton, Kieran Culkin’s wisecracking wife of 11 years: The Succession star made fun of her name – and they’ve been together ever since
The Succession star met his wife in a New York bar in 2012 and opened by making fun of her name; the pair got married a year later in an impromptu wedding during a thunderstorm
“Thank you for giving me two amazing kids, and Jazz … I want more. You said maybe, if I win,” Culkin joked in his acceptance speech. However, he later told Deadline it may have been a bit much. “Instead of talking to her in private like a human, I just blasted her onstage, which was very rude,” he told the outlet.
Charton posted a picture of the twosome from the big night on Instagram, quipping, “Here is the exact moment I realised I may have made a huge mistake by jokingly saying, ‘We can have another baby if you ever win an Emmy.’”
The couple clearly share the same sense of humour, but what else do we know about Jazz Charton?
What is Jazz Charton’s background?
According to Parade, Jazz Charton was born in London and raised by a single mother, Corinne “Coco” Charton, a former fashion model and artist. In 2010, she moved to New York, where she worked in the music department of an ad agency, per The Hollywood Reporter.
How did Jazz Charton meet Kieran Culkin?
Charton met Culkin in 2012 at a New York bar, and their first impressions of each other were, let’s just say, humorous. The actor told The Hollywood Reporter, “I said, ‘I’m Kieran. You have an English accent. What’s your name?’ She said, ‘Jazz.’ I said, ‘J-A-Z-Z, like the music?’ And she said, ‘Yeah.’ And I said, ‘Well, that’s f***ing stupid.”
Charton was at the venue with another man, but once he left to go to the bathroom, Culkin took the chance to ask her out. “I asked if he was her boyfriend and when she said no, I asked if I could be her boyfriend. We’ve been together ever since.”
