The series, which is based on the real-life experiences of its writer and lead actor, Richard Gadd, was met with rave reviews for its honest depiction of stalking and abuse, earning a 98 per cent score on Rotten Tomatoes.
According to Google Trends, among the top searches related to Baby Reindeer since the show was released in April were “Baby Reindeer real Martha” and the name of the woman fans think the stalker character is based on, as well as the identity of the man who abused Gadd.

She said: “I’m the victim. He’s written a bloody show about me.”
Since then, broadcaster Piers Morgan has interviewed a woman named Fiona Harvey – who appears to be the same person the Daily Mail spoke to – promising to “set the record straight”.
