Meet Rosanna Scotto, Good Day New York media powerhouse: the Fox 5 News anchor played one on Ghostbusters and owns celebrity-loved Fresco by Scotto in NY – but what of her family’s alleged mob ties?

TV anchor Rosanna Scotto may be best known for her work as a news anchor on Fox 5 News and co-host of Good Day New York – but that isn’t the only reason she is a powerhouse within the New York community.

She and her family also own the popular restaurant Fresco by Scotto, often referred to as the “NBC commissary” because of the high-profile politicians and celebrities who regularly dine there.

Scotto’s reputation has seen her land a number of roles on TV and film, including playing a news anchor on The Object of My Affection, Ransom, The Scout and Ghostbusters.

In January, sports commentator Curt Menefee made waves when he joined Scotto as a co-host on Good Day New York alongside his role at NFL pregame show Fox NFL Sunday. The move also sparked new interest in Scotto as she welcomed her co-star.

Born in Brooklyn, Scotto, 65, has been part of the WNYW-Fox 5 News family since 1986, and has been a solid presence in New York ever since. Per Fox5NY, Scotto began her career at Ted Turner’s WTBS TV station in Atlanta, where she was a reporter on two stations and also an associate producer for the night news.

She headed back to New York City in the 1980s and was a reporter for WABC-TV’s Good Morning New York, the precursor to Live with Regis and Kathie Lee.

Scotto has covered major stories in the tri-state area and has travelled to Israel, Rome and across the US for work. One of her more notable stories was in the 1990s, when Scotto received the tape detailing Woody Allen’s alleged sexual assault involving Dylan, his daughter with Mia Farrow.

“My bosses appreciated my hard work and soon after promoted me to anchor of the 10 o’clock news,” Scotto told Girl Tribe Mag.
