  • Aquaman 2 starring Jason Momoa and Amber Heard didn’t achieve the box office success it was hoping for, but the actress still posted about the DC Comics film on her Instagram page
  • Heard was previously embroiled in controversy during her defamation trial with ex-husband and fellow Hollywood actor Johnny Depp, but she’s since moved countries and is spending time with her baby

Aquaman 2 may not have achieved the box office success it was hoping for (Variety reports that it ranks among the worst debuts of 2023 for a superhero movie), but there was one question on everyone’s lips when it did come out – how much screen time did Amber Heard get?

The answer is, not much. Per Business Insider, the actress spoke just 11 lines of dialogue in the whole film despite being one of the franchise’s main characters. Collider surmises that she gets a total of around 20 minutes’ screen time.

Fans have speculated that her reduced screen time was a result of her controversial legal battle with ex-husband Johnny Depp in 2022.

However, director James Wan reportedly told Entertainment Weekly that Heard’s character’s reduced screen time was always part of the plan.

Either way, she still seems to be happy with the results as she broke her silence on the matter in an Instagram post in early January with the caption: “After all this time, Aquaman 2 made its splash (sorry, it’s too easy). Thank you to all of my fans for the overwhelming support and love in Mera’s AQ return,” before adding, “Thank you so much. #aquaman.”
