Most people would probably think that they’re the lucky one to be in a marriage with someone as talented and beautiful as Simone Biles, the “most decorated American gymnast in history”, but her husband thinks it’s the other way around, stating that he believes he’s the “catch” in the relationship.
“I always say that the men are the catch,” Biles’ hubby Jonathan Owens said in his interview with The Pivot podcast, adding that he was initially “afraid to commit”.
When asked “How in the hell did you pull Simone Biles?” Owens said he “didn’t know who she was” back in 2020, when they first crossed paths after matching on a dating app, per People.
Biles messaged him first and ended up driving for 45 minutes to meet him in Houston.
And of course, the rest is history.
When Owens received backlash for his comments, he seemingly responded by sharing pics of himself and his wife together, with the caption, “Unbothered, just know we locked in over here.” Angry netizens aside, the couple seem happier than ever.
