Deion Sanders and Tracey Edmonds have officially called it quits, after being engaged for four years, the couple announced on December 3.

“We have mutually decided that it is best for us to move forward in life as friends and have made this decision with love in our hearts, respect for each other and appreciation for the time we’ve shared together,” Edmonds wrote on Instagram.

The news comes just days after Sanders was named Sports Illustrated’s Sportsperson of the Year.

Sanders and Edmonds, both 56, first met at a film premiere party back in 2012 for a film that Edmonds had produced, according to People magazine. The same source states that they managed to navigate being in a long-distance relationship for much of their romance.

Tracey Edmonds was born in February 1967 in Los Angeles, California, to her parents George and Jacqueline McQuarn.

According to People, Edmonds has over 25 years experience in the TV and film industry. She runs her own production company, Edmonds Entertainment Group, where she currently serves as the CEO. The entrepreneur used to work as a TV journalist and co-hosted ExtraTV from 2014 to 2017 alongside Mario Lopez and Charissa Thompson, winning a Daytime Emmy for her part on the show to boot, per People.

She’s produced films including New in Town, End of the Road and The Postcard Killings, as seen on her IMDB.
