1. Go colour crazy

A true style savant is one who isn’t averse to colour. Cha shows us how it’s done by wearing bold hues with neutrals and playing with textures.

In one look, he rocks an emerald green jacket with Chaumet jewels and black leather pants. In another, he commands quiet attention in a soft turquoise jumper with a matching saddle bag by Dior.

Of course, like every true Korean idol, Cha has a wardrobe full of edgy leather jackets – but he goes beyond basic black. Here, he dons a 70s hippie look with a brown leather jacket and a floral print top underneath, styled with ripped jeans. He’s also been spotted in a 90s-inspired turquoise blue leather jacket, worn with a casual tee and jeans, and messy-but-sexy hair.

2. Make waves in white

How to wear white the non-boring way? Cop key pieces in shades of white that have a lot of texture. Case in point: Cha’s knitted white cardigan.

3. Channel chic in checks

Cha is also a fan of classics, such as stripes and a good checked shirt, hoodie or coat. He wears them while performing as well as in fashion events and campaigns, like this one for Burberry.

4. Be discreet with designer labels

While Cha occasionally wears loud-and-proud designer looks, such as coordinated monogrammed Burberry outfits, he usually dresses them down. And he styles his more muted, casual outfits with bags by Louis Vuitton and Burberry.

5. Grey always looks good

A black suit is likewise a staple, but Cha wears a lot of his well-tailored looks in grey, too. It’s just as smart, sleek and sophisticated, and grey makes a good playground for unexpected details, such as this backwards tie he wore.
