Heart Evangelista clearly “hearts” Hermès!

The Filipino actress, artist and fashion influencer is a certified crazy rich Asian through and through, and it’s no secret that she’s unapologetically Hermès-obsessed.

While the 37-year-old is always sure to be toting the latest (or even yet-to-be-released) and most hard-to-acquire bags from the world’s biggest designer brands – Dior, Louis Vuitton and Gucci, to name a few – the style star always gravitates back to her favoured Hermès. The French heritage brand is hailed for its luxury goods that are often regarded as functional pieces of history and art.

What’s more, Evangelista happens to own some of the rarest and most covetable of the bunch. Which bags are in her Hermès collection? Take a look and find out the interesting stories behind how she got them ...

1. Hermès Mini Kelly II in Craie, chosen for her by Michael Coste

As much as Evangelista loves her Hermès, she appears to be cherished by the brand, too. Evangelista seemingly shares a close relationship with Hermès executive Michael Coste, which dates as far back as 2016 when the two first met, per Philippine entertainment site Pep.

Last year, Coste even personally hand-picked a bag specifically for the fashionista – and one to match her outfit, per the same source. Evangelista was wearing a different bag when she paid a visit to Coste at the boutique in Paris, but left the store with a new one in tow, as seen on Coste’s Instagram and then on Evangelista’s vlog.

According to a Pep report, her new bag appears to be Mini Kelly II in matt alligator skin in Craie, a very rare style that’s currently sold out and worth an approximate US$90,000 per 1stdibs.

2. The super-rare Hermès Neige Snow Faubourg Birkin

Starting the year right, and indulgently so, Evangelista had recently set off to Tokyo, toting a rare 20-centimeter Hermès Faubourg Birkin, as seen on her Instagram. The bag is limited edition and considered one of the most sought-after models, according to Sotheby’s.

It’s a bag that’s a “celebration of Hermès’ history”, notes the website. As seen in its exquisite design of Haussmann windows and orange awnings, it replicates the brand’s flagship storefront back when it was located on 24 Rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré in Paris, states the article.

Evangelista’s precious arm candy can be worth up to US$375,000 on 1stdibs.

In case you didn’t know, Evangelista famously personalises Hermès bags by painting on them and even boasts an elite clientele of celebrities and collectors. The actress-slash-artist reportedly charges about US$1,800 to paint their bags. Talk about making a collector’s item even more exquisite!

4. The unique Hermès Shadow Birkin

Per Christie’s, the Shadow Birkin was first launched in 2009 by the brand’s then-creative director, Jean Paul Gaultier. Of all Birkin styles, this is widely considered one of the most interesting because of its trompe-l’œil effect and missing hardware.

Consider it a must-buy for true Hermès lovers. Evangelista, of course, has one, and it comes in white and in her preferred size 25, per Philippine fashion website Preview.

5. The limited-edition Hermès Cargo Birkin that’s super functional

The Cargo Birkin, released in 2020, is another limited-edition bag from the brand – and a style that Evangelista has in her collection. Hers, per Preview, is a Cargo 25 in Nata Toile Goeland, and retails for about US$58,000 on 1stdibs.

It’s the “most functional Birkin”, per Christie’s, as it is a lightweight canvas make and has five outer pockets and even a coffee cup holder. How chic and convenient!
