Family head Mukesh Ambani saw his wealth soar to around US$91 billion, according to Forbes. His children are getting even more involved in the family business, Reliance Industries, with big shifts that resulted in Isha, Akash and Anant taking the helm of different parts of the company.
Mukesh, meanwhile, dug deep into his pockets to spend big on two properties in Dubai, with the landmark deals going viral. The family also celebrated the addition of twins after Isha and her husband Anand Piramal welcomed a boy and girl in November.

Family first in Reliance Industries’ business moves
This year saw the power transition from Mukesh, 65, to his three children at the billion-dollar family company, Reliance Industries. Mukesh told shareholders at the 45th annual general meeting that Akash and Isha, both 31, would head telecoms and retail, respectively. Anant, 27, would lead a new energy unit.
According to Business Today India, the mogul said that while his children would be ushering in a new generation of leaders, he would remain involved in the business to provide mentorship where needed. The move has been widely accepted, with the three children already making their mark in the business.
