How Ariana Grande made a US$220 million net worth before 30: her hit records, make-up line R.E.M. Beauty, role on The Voice, collaborations with Lipsy and Reebok, and upcoming film Wicked all add up
- Ariana Grande capitalised on her early teen fame in Nickelodeon’s Victorious by launching a lucrative music career – with five US No 1 albums and counting
- She made bank from sponsorship deals with Reebok and Lispy, launched her own R.E.M. Beauty line, and moved into movies, starring alongside Leonardo DiCaprio in Netflix’s Don’t Look Up
Ariana Grande is one of the richest pop artists in the industry – with an estimated US$220 million at her disposal right now, according to the statisticians as Celebrity Net Worth.
Grande’s path to stardom started with her love of theatre, leading her to a small stint on Broadway before she broke into the world of Hollywood and the music industry.
Now, the “Positions” singer regularly makes headlines as a musician and businesswoman – indeed, the ever-restless Grande always seems to be working on a new project.
Here’s how she graduated from teen screen star to become one of the decade’s most influential (and well-rewarded) faces on the planet.
She started her career on Broadway
Grande began her music career early in life by performing in local community theatres and on cruise ships.
At the age of 15, she auditioned for Jason Robert Brown’s Broadway musical, 13. She was cast in the role of Charlotte and won a National Youth Theatre Association award for her portrayal of the character.
It’s unclear how much she made from her role in 13, but it surely set on the path for what was to come next.
She got her big break being cast in Nickelodeon’s Victorious
Following her stint on Broadway, Grande was cast in the hit Nickelodeon show, Victorious, as Cat Valentine, a red-haired friend of the show’s main character. The show premiered in 2010 and, according to a 2010 Nickelodeon press release, earned 3.5 million total viewers – and launched which launched her into teen-idol stardom.
