Is Charlize Theron dating again? After a long break since her last highly publicised relationship with Sean Penn from 2013 to 2015, the Oscar-winning actress was reportedly enjoying spending time with none other than Gabriel Aubry, Catwoman star Halle Berry’s ex, according to US Weekly.
So what do we know about Aubry, the Canadian supermodel?
He was one of the world hottest models
Born in 1976, Aubry was discovered during his 20s while partying in a nightclub during a ski trip to Quebec, per The Famous People. Standing at 188cm. the young man was soon in demand and went on to model for top designers like DKNY, Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, Versace, Valentino, Ralph Lauren and Hugo Boss.
He made history as the first male model to appear on L’Uomo Vogue’s cover. Another career highlight was a Macy’s commercial in 2008 where he appeared alongside Donald Trump and Mariah Carey.
In the early 2010s, he became one of the top paid male models globally, earning US$30,000 a day and millions per year, according to Today.
He was a businessman too, and owned a cafe
Besides modelling, Aubry also dipped his toes in the business world. In 2006, he opened a Cuban-inspired eatery, Café Fuego, in Manhattan, which he said was “very similar to my house, so it’s very warm”, per Hello! magazine.
