Quite understandably, some celebrities go to great lengths to keep their pregnancies and births private. But is it really possible to go under the radar in Hollywood with something as big as a baby bump? Apparently so, and here are are some celebrities that have somehow managed it, and shared the news to the world on their own terms (well mostly) ... kudos to them.

1. Lauren Morelli and Samira Wiley

Lauren Morelli and Samira Wiley kept the birth of their first child secret for a month before sharing the news on Instagram in May last year, when Wiley posted a photo of the new baby in a Mother’s Day post dedicated to her wife.

“Happy first Mother’s Day to my beautiful wife, who four weeks ago today after labouring for almost 3 days gave birth to our first child – our gorgeous daughter, George,” she wrote. “Welcome to the world, baby girl. We love you and we thank you for giving us the best first Mother’s Day two ladies could ask for.”

2. Amber Heard

In July 2021 Amber Heard, ex-wife to Johnny Depp, shared that she’d become a mother via surrogate in April. News broke when Heard announced in an Instagram post that her daughter Oonagh Paige Heard had been born three months prior.

“Four years ago, I decided I wanted to have a child,” Heard wrote. “I wanted to do it on my own terms. I now appreciate how radical it is for us as women to think about one of the most fundamental parts of our destinies in this way. I hope we arrive at a point in which it’s normalised to not want a ring to have a cot. A part of me wants to uphold that my private life is none of anyone’s business. I also get that the nature of my job compels me to take control of this.”
