Swifties have long awaited the day that Taylor Swift announces her Love Story wedding. And it may be soon, with recent reports on the Grammy award-winning artist’s possible engagement to long-term boyfriend Joe Alwyn.
According to The Sun, Swift and her beau took a private 6,400km (4,000 mile) trip to St. Ives for just a three-day visit, which friends of the star reported as “something special” for the couple.
The lovebirds are yet to address the speculation though, and it’s certainly not the first time they’ve experienced engagement rumours, reported Marie Claire. But as her longest relationship of four years, could the English actor very well be the one? We uncover why he might just be Swift’s perfect match.
1. He is her dream man

It’s not news that some of Swift’s most famous songs are about her exes – most of them about disappointment, hurt or lessons from break-ups. Rolling Stone once outlined the relationship stories behind some of her hit lyrics. But her songs about Alwyn, in contrast, are full of love, joy and hope. Her album “Lover” (2019) is dedicated to him and despite their notoriously private relationship, he told The Sunday Times that it was very “flattering” to be the subject of one of her albums.
She also admitted that he was her type in I Think He Knows, singing: “he got that boyish look that I like in a man.” She got even more detailed in Ready For It with the lyrics: “some, some boys are tryin’ too hard / he don’t try at all, though / younger than my exes but he act like such a man, so / I see nothing better, I keep him forever.” She apparently dreamed about him too, continuing in the song, “in the middle of the night, in my dreams / I know I’m gonna be with you.” She also proudly declared, “I love a London boy” in London Boy.

She was even ready to say “yes” to him with just a paper ring, as she seemingly confessed in Paper Rings: “I like shiny things but I’d marry you with paper rings / uh huh, that’s right / darling, you’re the one I want.”
2. They’re super low-key
