Do royals celebrate Valentine’s Day? They may be public figures, but most of them keep the juiciest details about their relationships under wraps, and that has included how they mark February 14th.

Thanks to the rise of social media, however, these blue bloods have given us a glimpse of how they spend this special day. To no one’s surprise, their take on this love-filled occasion is straight out of a fairy tale.

Active royals or not, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have never been shy about putting on public displays of affection. For Valentine’s Day 2020, Harry and Meghan wore big smiles at Victoria International Airport in Canada after a quick trip to the US.

Before tying the knot with the heartthrob prince in 2018, Markle offered some advice to her fellow “singletons” on her now-defunct lifestyle blog, The Tig. “Be your own beautiful, darling, cherished and funny Valentine. You deserve it,” the actress-turned-duchess wrote.

The Netherlands’ monarchs took a trip down memory lane on February 14, 2021. King Willem-Alexander and Queen Maxima marked the special occasion by recreating his proposal to his wife on a frozen pond at Huis Ten Bosch Palace in The Hague.

Like the Sussexes, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge also spent their first Valentine’s Day as a married couple in 2012 apart due to royal commitments. While Prince William flew to the Falkland Islands in his role as an RAF search and rescue pilot, Middleton attended solo engagements in Liverpool.

According to Hello, the duchess shared with a little boy named Jaqson how her hubby sent her a V-Day card. Jaqson’s mum also revealed at the time that Middleton mentioned that she’d received a bouquet as well.
