From slaying at Kendall Jenner’s Halloween party, to showing up at art museum galas and sharing hugs with the likes of Abel Tesfaye, she’s a bona fide social butterfly whether in Seoul or Hollywood.

The Korean superstar and Canadian singer The Weeknd surprised fans when they were spotted sharing a warm hug in front of a restaurant in LA in early November. Netizens couldn’t stop guessing at the reason behind the meeting – was it a date or a new music collaboration?

In fact, Jennie has already admitted to being a fan of The Weeknd. On an episode of Weekly Idol, she sang his hit Can’t Feel My Face. And in Blackpink’s Netflix documentary, she sang another song of his, The Hills. Jennie and Rosé also attended his concert back in 2018, sharing a video of themselves having fun.

The Weeknd clearly knew who Jennie was before the now-famous hug, too. When Jennie shared an Instagram clip of herself singing The Hills in the Netflix documentary, he liked her post, according to KPopStar.

Despite fans’ excitement at the prospect of the pair being romantically involved, Jaden Smith joined them at the restaurant soon after, so perhaps it was just a meet-up between friends after all.
