  • Tilda Swinton and Timothée Chalamet struck a delightful contrast promoting The French Dispatch, while all eyes were on Cristiano Ronaldo’s girlfriend Georgina Rodríguez
  • We were less than impressed with Abigail Breslin’s green number and Jessica Chastain’s lipstick – and what were Elena Lenina’s OTT hairdos all about?

Firmly established as Europe’s premiere celebration of cinema, the Cannes Film Festival welcomed back a stellar line-up of movie stars, all donning dazzling fashion on the coastal red carpet. The 74th annual event – staged in the French Riviera from July 6 to 17 and postponed from its original May schedule – shone brightly with heavyweight names from Isabelle Huppert to Diana Kruger, director Wes Anderson, Tilda Swinton and Timothée Chalamet.

The occasion also saw fashionable crowds from around the world joining in the style extravaganza. Also posing on the red carpet were supermodels Bella Hadid and Georgina Rodriguez – superstar footballer Cristiano Ronaldo’s girlfriend – as well as new faces like James Turlington, aka supermodel Christy Turlington’s nephew.

As the festival closes its curtains, here’s STYLE’s round-up of the biggest fashion hits and misses from the 74th Cannes Film Festival.
