The wrestling ring might be one of the unlikeliest places for an actor to start his career, but that’s exactly how Dwayne Johnson rose to fame. After making a name for himself as a WWE superstar, “The Rock” made the switch and decided to take up acting full-time.
While his early acting gigs involved smaller roles such as the villain in The Mummy Returns (2001), he soon started headlining films. The star now has numerous box office hits under his belt, including recurring lead roles in The Fast and the Furious and Jumanji franchises.

To celebrate the star’s 49th birthday on May 2, we take a look at what he likes to spend his money on.
A Beverly Hills mansion

In early April, The Rock doled out US$27.8 million for a mansion in Beverly Hills. The 17,630 sq ft home sits on 1.5 hectares (3.67 acres) of land and has 12 bathrooms and six bedrooms. It also has a tennis court, a pool and spa, a gym and even a baseball diamond.
