UFC star Jorge Masvidal’s millions: as Kamaru Usman’s opponent gets ready to fight him again in Florida, we take a look at his biggest purchases – from a pink Versace robe to a Polaris Slingshot

- Jorge Masvidal used to sleep in a beat-up car and struggled to pay rent before UFC; now he’s at the top of his game and making bank thanks to his MMA skills
- He turned heads at a Conor McGregor fight wearing a Versace dressing gown identical to the Irishman’s, then wore it again – in pink – with a Donald Trump mask in 2020
Jorge Masvidal had a rough childhood. He lived and moved around a lot with his mother, but spent most of his formative years in Miami. His dad was imprisoned for drug trafficking when he was just four years old.
According to the BBC, he was 13 when he discovered the truth about his father’s crimes (he’d been told his father was in the army), and began making regular visits to him in prison. According to interviews Masvidal has given, his visits reportedly made him feel closer to his father, and he started to see his life in a more positive light.
Fast-forward to 2021 and Masvidal has beaten the odds to become one of the most popular fighters in UFC. As he became more prominent, his earnings also steadily increased. Last year, although he lost to Kamaru Usman, he still walked away with US$530,000 – his most lucrative pay to date.
Republic World estimates his net worth at US$14 million. As he gets ready to fight Usman for the second time this weekend, we take a look at how the Cuban-American MMA fighter earns – and spends – his millions.
He likes to strut in Versace robes
When he checked in to his UFC Fight Island hotel last year, he again wore a Versace dressing gown – this time in pink – and a Donald Trump mask. The dressing gown is worth US$595.
He lives in a mansion worth US$2.2 million
According to The Sun, Masvidal bought a 6,800 sq ft mansion in Florida’s exclusive Kendall community for US$2.2 million after he defeated Nate Diaz in 2019.
