If you’ve logged on to any K-drama news site or blog during the past week, you would’ve seen them lit up with the names Seo Ye-ji and Kim Jung-hyun. But the ongoing storm is about more than a romantic scandal between exes – for Seo, accusations that she manipulated her former boyfriend are just the beginning.

On April 13, Seo’s management agency Gold Medalist released a statement attempting to explain away the kerfuffle as a typical lovers’ spat, but what about all the other allegations mounting against the actress?

School bullying?

This particular issue goes all the way back to March 2014, when a netizen posted online, claiming, “Seo Ye-ji bullied me in middle school and even extorted me”.

After Seo made her debut in TVN’s Potato Star 2013QR3, the alleged bullying victim posted photos of Seo during her middle school years, but it didn’t get much traction as Seo wasn’t yet the K-drama queen that she is now. Seo’s fans also hit back by questioning the veracity of the photos and the victim’s claim of being Seo’s former classmate, saying that the old photos don’t bear much resemblance to Seo in the present day.

But these accusations recently resurfaced: according to Koreaboo, another netizen stepped forward on April 13 to corroborate the previous rumours. This netizen also claimed to be a victim of Seo’s bullying, sharing a photo of their middle school yearbook as proof and adding, “Seo Ye-ji went for plastic surgery around her middle school graduation, and that’s why people couldn’t believe those photos are actually of her.”
