When the Framing Britney Spears documentary was released this February, it gave viewers an insight into Spears’ ascent to global superstardom, her struggles with fame and how her mental breakdown was sensationalised and exploited by the press.

More importantly, it also highlighted Spears’ conservatorship, which gives her father, Jamie Spears, access to her medical records as well as control over her US$59 million fortune.

At one point, the documentary also touched on Spears’ relationship with her teenage kids, Sean and Jayden, piquing everyone’s curiosity. So what are they like and how is Spears raising them?

Here’s a closer look at Spears’ relationship with her boys and what she’s like as a mum outside of the spotlight.

Sean and Jayden have a great relationship with their mum, but they don’t often see her

 

Sean and Jayden are often mistaken as twins, but they actually have a one year gap between them (although they share the same zodiac sign). Sean was born on September 14, 2005, while Jayden was born on September 12, 2006 – meaning that they are both now teenagers, aged 15 and 14 respectively. From the photos Spears shares on social media, it appears that she’s very close with her kids despite not being able to see them often.

After their divorce in 2007, Spears and her ex-husband, Kevin Federline, agreed to 50-50 joint custody. This changed in September 2019 when Federline was given 70 per cent custody, while Spears was given only 30 per cent.

Spears is very private when it comes to her brood
