How does Got7’s Jackson Wang spend his wealth? Hong Kong’s very own K-pop idol splashes on prime real estate, Fendi and Jimmy Choo designer clothes – and his dad
He manages and operates Team Wang
Wang founded his own international record label Team Wang in 2017, which released his first English-language track Papillon the same year. The song made a remarkable impact in the Chinese music industry. He continues to release music under his label, and even topped the Billboard Emerging Artists list in 2019. Team Wang has also partnered with Sublime Artist Agency for his promotions in South Korea.
In 2020, he launched his fashion collection called Cookies – The Original as part of his merchandise division Team Wang Design, of which he serves as lead designer and creative director. The label has partnered with many brands such as Fendi, Ray-Ban, Super X and Monèt.
He gets great gifts for friends and family
Wang has a heart for gift-giving, which proves his strong relationship with his friends and family. In 2017, he bought a US$16,000 custom-made friendship bracelet from IF & Co. Jewelers for fellow Got7 member Mark. The bracelet, which came in a pair, was made of solid 14-karat rose gold with 7mm white gold cuban link chains and white diamonds.
Wang also gave his father an iPad Pro for his birthday last year, because he knew his father loved watching films and videos on his phone, and thought he might enjoy a bigger screen.
He has a passion for fashion
He invests in real estate
Wang was widely reported to have bought a residential unit in The Cullinan complex in Hong Kong’s Union Square, Kowloon. The luxury residential private housing estate is considered to be one of the most expensive real estate destinations in Hong Kong, and has glass curtain walls and views of Victoria Harbour. The 875 sq ft (81-square-metre) unit was bought for HK$38.8 million (US$5 million) in 2019, according to several media reports at the time.
He practices philanthropy
Wang is admired for his good character. In 2019, he won a lawsuit against a detractor who posted defamatory content about him and donated the compensation money of 60,000 yuan (US$9,000) to charity, saying the sole purpose of the lawsuit was to defend and protect his character rather than make bank.
