They call each other all the time

When Isha got married and moved out of the Ambani family home, it took a lot of adjusting for both mum and daughter. Nita explained in an interview with Femina in 2019 that it was a bittersweet experience, but she understood that her daughter had her own home and her own family to nurture. In the interview, Nita said it was the small things, like getting ready for a night out together, that she missed. But she added that Isha still FaceTimes her mum while getting ready so that Nita can see her outfit changes – this way, Nita can still be a part of the small moments they used to share while living together.
Nita inspires her daughter

Nita has been fiercely vocal about female empowerment, making it her life’s mission to support equal opportunities for women in India. In the Femina interview, she said young women are breaking the glass ceiling across fields, referring to the launch of the U-17 Women’s Championship, a tournament for women’s football. In November 2020, Reliance Industries made history by becoming the title sponsor for the Women’s T20 Challenge 2020.
Nita also made sure her daughter grew up believing that her potential was limitless. In an interview with Vogue in 2019, Isha said that, growing up, she was taught that whatever her brothers could do, she could do – if not better. The Times of India also published a piece written by Isha in 2012 about her mother. In the open letter, Isha called her mum her inspiration, saying Nita lifts her up when she falls and shows her the right path.
