  • K-drama stars Son Ye-jin and Hyun Bin are South Korea’s newest Hallyu power couple, so what can Crash Landing on You fans expect now they’re dating?
  • Both halves of the couple are nearing 40, could BinJin updates include more film awards, Seoul property buying – and perhaps even wedding preparations?

The eventual confirmation that K-drama stars Hyun Bin and Son Ye-jin are dating in real life might not have been such a shock in the end – the “BinJin couple”, as fans fondly call them, have enjoyed a close working relationship that spans back to 2011, when Son made a cameo in Hyun Bin’s hit drama, Secret Garden.
With their believable on-screen chemistry in huge hit Crash Landing on You, dating rumours soon began to swirl, and the gestures, subtle clues, and the not-so-secret sightings further backed up fans’ claims that they were an item off-screen, too.

So, what’s in store for Son and Hyun Bin? Below, STYLE forecasts what the year might look like for the BinJin couple:

Following the success of Crash Landing on You, both will star in movie projects

Son and Hyun Bin are veteran actors in their own right. Son has a net worth of US$20 million while Hyun Bin is one of the highest paid K-drama actors, earning US$84,000 per episode.

Now they’re together, both will surely bag more projects and endorsements. It was reported that Hyun Bin will be returning to appear in the sequel Confidential Assignment 2: International, starring with Yoona and Yoo Hae-jin, and it was also confirmed that his next movie project will be the action film, Bargaining.

Meanwhile, Son is gearing up for her Hollywood debut. She’s in talks to star in Cross with Parasite’s Lee Sun-kyun. However, according to Zapzee, quoting Star News, production has been postponed due to the pandemic.

More awards

With more movie projects under their belts, their performances will surely earn rave reviews from critics and fans. Last month, Hyun Bin emerged as this year’s grand prizewinner in the APAN Star Awards ceremony for his role as a North Korean soldier in CLOY. Onstage, he thanked Son and recognised her stellar performance.
