The executive producer of the Crazy Rich Asians-esque show might be Jeff Jenkins, the man behind the melodramatic KUWTK, but Xie has been playing it cool on-screen – and showing that she’s more than a Silicon Valley billionaire’s daughter

Netflix’s newest reality series, Bling Empire, follows the lives of Los Angeles’ wealthiest Asians and Asian-Americans as they navigate between traditional Eastern values and … well, having lots of money and being in front of a camera for reality TV.
By the first episode, which debuted on January 15, you may have already picked your favourite cast members for the season, but we’re here to make the case for young luxury tastemaker, Jaime Xie.

Although Bling Empire is expected to bring us the high drama and absurdity reminiscent of many of our favourite unscripted series, the young daughter of a tech billionaire reportedly keeps it cool and classy for the small screen. (And when the executive producer of Bling Empire is Jeff Jenkins, who also produced Keeping Up with the Kardashians, maintaining a chill demeanour might be harder than it looks.)

Here’s what we know about Netflix’s newest 23-year-old star.

She’s a high fashion influencer

Like many of her cast mates, Xie is no stranger to the front-row seats of fashion week. Teetering on the cusp of the millennial generation and Gen Z (she was born in 1997), the young stylista makes her mark in the fashion world through Instagram and YouTube, as well as those coveted fashion week appearances.

Recalling her beginnings as a social media influencer, Xie told online lifestyle magazine Husskie, “It started a few years ago when friends and family encouraged me to share my love for fashion and find a way to capture my style to share with the world.”

She is gluten free, dairy free and vegan – or at least, tries to be

Xie tries to keep up a healthy lifestyle as much as she can. In addition to not drinking alcohol or smoking (mostly), Xie avoids gluten, dairy, fish and meat as much as she can.
