Formed through TV show YG Treasure Box, Treasure’s Bang Ye-dam, Jihoon, Haruto et al are going strong with latest release The First Step: Chapter Three

From Big Bang to Blackpink, YG Entertainment has granted K-pop fans many happy moments with its brilliant artists in recent years. And this year – four years after Blackpink’s debut – YG Entertainment gave us new boy band Treasure.

Since its members were selected through TV programme YG Treasure Box, which ran from late 2018 to early 2019, many K-pop fans have been keeping an eye out for Treasure’s debut. The group’s first appearance was originally slated for 2019, but it was postponed.

Thankfully, Treasure finally made their record-breaking debut in early August and are already on their third single, “The First Step: Chapter Three”.

STYLE scored an exclusive interview and asked the group some of our most pressing questions.

How did it feel to produce so many singles so quickly this year?

Park Jeong-woo: I am really grateful to be able to show the many different charms of Treasure. We’ll continue to give you guys good performances!

Bang Ye-dam: It’s amazing that we could make new records that fast. I am thankful that I was able to train myself for things like this. It’s really great to be able to have many attempts in a short period of time.

Choi Hyun-suk: I am thankful to the staff who always helped us make new singles. I’ve also appreciated seeing our members get closer to each other and be able to communicate more deeply.
