Mukesh Ambani’s wife Nita lost 40kg supporting son Anant’s weight loss journey – he used Bollywood star John Abraham’s celebrity trainer, her diet was beetroot juice

Anant Ambani somehow lost over 100kg in just 18 months, but when his mum Nita joined him for inspiration she quickly returned to her pre-pregnancy weight – now her daily routine involves 40 minutes of exercise, yoga, dancing and drinking beetroot juice
Here’s how her weight loss journey unfolded.
When Nita became pregnant with Anant, her weight went from 47kg to 90kg. “I was so overjoyed at being a mum that I had let myself go,” she said in a 2011 interview with women’s lifestyle website iDiva.com. She admitted in the same interview that by age 23 she was told that she would never be able to conceive; her older children Akash and Isha were born through in vitro fertilisation.

At 20 years old, Anant hired celebrity personal trainer Vinod Channa to help him get fit, and it was during this 18-month process that his mother Nita felt inspired to join him.
“A child does what his mother does, so I couldn’t be seen eating while putting him on a diet,” Nita told The Times of India. “So I went on a diet along with Anant. Whatever he ate, I ate. Whenever he exercised, I did too. If he went for a walk, I would go along. By virtue of being his mother, I lost weight. He was my main motivation and continues to be, as we are still fighting obesity. There are so many children who have this, and mothers feel shy admitting it.”
Getting into a routine with her son helped Nita achieve her goals, and she found herself returning to the weight she was before getting pregnant.
