Monsta X singer Lee Min-hyuk, better known as Minhyuk, celebrates his birthday on November 3. But even as he turns 27, his aegyo – or “cute” – moments are plentiful. One of his most popular nicknames is “MinMung” – the combination of “Min” from Minhyuk and mung, which is a cute word for puppy in Korean.

But his success isn’t just due to his cute appearance. As he juggles MC jobs on TV and radio programmes like SBS’ Inkigayo and Naver Now’s Vogue Ship Show, in addition to his K-pop career, his schedule is packed indeed – but that’s definitely allowed him to enjoy some memorable moments with other idols. Appearing on Idol Star Athletics Championships with Astro’s Cha Eun-woo

Every K-pop fan will recognise the TV show Idol Star Athletics Championships, which sees music stars competing with each other in sports events. Minhyuk and Astro singer Cha Eun-woo both entered the semi-final round for bowling in 2019. Although Minhyuk and Cha couldn’t win their final victory against NCT’s Jaehyun and Exo’s Chanyeol fans swooned over the game. Photos of Minhyuk and Cha cooperating, putting band-aids on each other and talking strategy, went viral.

But Minhyuk reportedly once mentioned Cha two years before their TV show appearance, commenting “I wish I looked like Eun-woo”, according to K-pop blog Kpopmap.
