Who knew Friends icon Lisa Kudrow spent 8 years studying biology, Pitch Perfect star Rebel Wilson has a double degree in law and arts, or that Eva Longoria earned a master’s in Chicano studies long before Desperate Housewives?

With the incessant demands of their high-flying A-list lives, not all celebrities have time to complete a solid education before falling for the trappings of fame.

On the other hand, there are plenty of Hollywood names with academic smarts and surprising specialisms. You may know of hilarious Hangover star Ken Jeong’s medical degree from the University of North Carolina, or that Big Bang Theory’s real life genius Mayim Bialik has a neuroscience background – but Rebel Wilson’s law degree or Mr Bean’s electrical engineering degree may come as more of a shock.

Rebel Wilson

She is known for getting her comedic break in Pitch Perfect, followed by a long list of hilarious lead roles. But before her introduction to Hollywood, Rebel Wilson earned a double degree in law and arts from the University of New South Wales in her native Australia. It seems that the decision to ditch office life has been worthwhile for the hugely successful The Hustle star.
