South Korean actress Han So-hee appeared on the K-drama radar with her role in 2019 TVN series Abyss, playing a serial killer's daughter who flip-flops between the two sides of bad and good. That breakout role transformed her career following minor roles in hits such as 100 Days My Prince and Money Flower.

The remake, titled The World of the Married, is the most-watched drama in Korea, with the last episode hitting a rating of 24.33 per cent, breaking the previous record of 23.78 per cent held by the last episode of Sky Castle since last year. As the drama ratings skyrocket, so has public interest in Han, who was already popular on Instagram for her uniquely feminine features. Here are five things to know about the newcomer.

She arrived in Seoul with less than US$250 in her pocket

 

According to an article on Daum, in a since-deleted blog post from 2018 Han claimed that she came to Seoul alone at just 19 years old, with about 300,000 won (US$247) in her pocket. She then started working part time to support herself, bringing us to our next point.
