As he enters the latter stages of his twenties, things are undeniably on the way up for Exo star Sehun. Sehun’s path to stardom began unexpectedly. Unlike most K-pop stars who submit to rigorous auditions for their shot at the spotlight, an SM Entertainment casting associate discovered Sehun while he was eating tteokbokki, or stir-fried rice cakes.

In an interview with Koreaboo, Sehun explained that he was taught by his parents to avoid strangers. As a result, he “ran away from the casting manager for 30 minutes”.

He loves children

Sehun’s love for children is evident from the charitable donations he’s made from his own pocket.

Sehun gave away 20 million won (around US$16,500) for scholarships to his alma mater, Seoul Mangu Elementary School. The recipients, the school’s outstanding students, received their award during their graduation ceremony.

He also donated his hard-earned money to the child and infant care centre Eden I Vile. Plus, he consistently volunteers at the child welfare Centre Sunduk Home over Children's Day.
