: When it comes to style, American socialite Olivia Palermo seems to do it perfectly. The style icon and occasional designer is not shy when it comes to sharing her style with the world - and she has done it again. In her latest venture into the design world, she shares her shoe style with fashionistas in collaboration with the ever-so-glamorous and sexy shoe brand Aquazzura, creating six "essential" shoes for ladies who want that effortless glam yet extremely comfortable style Palermo epitomises.

A capsule collection like this deserves celebrating, and creative director and founder of Aquazurra, Edgardo Osorio, made a special visit to our city to do just that. Hong Kong's most fashionable, including It girls and style icons Charlotte Chen, Antonia Li and Diana d'Arenberg, flocked to the soiree. Also spotted chatting with the designer while mingling over Champagne and hor d'oeuvres were socialite-and-photographer Victoria Tang and energetic mummy Jaime Ho.

How was it working with your close friend Olivia Palermo?
She’s such a great fashion icon and so strong with accessories. We went through her favourite looks and designed six [pairs of] essential shoes for ladies.

Speaking of essential shoes, what would you consider the essential shoe?
A sexy pair of strappy sandals. You can wear that anywhere and with anything.

Which is your favourite from the collection?
I love the bejewelled sandal. I love the story – she collects custom jewellery and we took a vintage necklace and put it on the shoe. It’s a spectacular piece.

What’s next for the brand?
We’ll see. I want to do handbags, maybe. I’m also launching sneakers now. It’s quite exciting.
