Amid coronavirus outbreak, ex-Manchester United footballers Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs open hotels to medical staff, free of charge
- The two properties, Hotel Football and The Stock Exchange, are both located in Manchester
- Neville announced on social media they will be closed to the public and offered to health workers

In a video released on social media, Neville promised no staff member would be made redundant.
“It’s at this moment of time, I think, that the whole of our industry needs to show solidarity, not just for our staff in these uncertain times but with the people who need the accommodation most in the coming months,” says Neville.
Hotel Football is a football-themed property overlooking Old Trafford, the home of Manchester United. The hotel was built at a cost of £24 million (US$28.5 million) and features 133 rooms, a restaurant called Cafe Football and a five-a-side pitch on the roof.
The Stock Exchange Hotel opened only last November, after a seven-year renovation. The hotel is housed in the historic former stock exchange, a building that had been shut to the public since the 1970s and which made headlines in late 2015, when Neville and Giggs allowed homeless people to live in it during the coldest winter months. The luxury property has 43 rooms, including signature suites and a huge top-floor residence.
