Uniquely Hong Kong gifts for Christmas
Hong Kong mother-of-two Claire Yates’ Lion Rock Press pays tribute to the city with greetings cards, wrapping paper and hanging ornaments, and jigsaw puzzles for children
For Christmas shoppers who want to put a local twist on festive gift giving, the elegant designs of Lion Rock Press could be just the thing.
Paying tribute to Hong Kong’s iconic imagery (think trams, Star Ferry, yum cha tea pots, green minibuses and fortune cats), themed greetings cards, hanging ornaments, wrapping paper and gift tags are just a few of the delights on offer. For children, jigsaw puzzles and bespoke placemats are the big draw.
Established in 2013 by mother-of-two Claire Yates (top right), Lion Rock Press creates collections inspired by the charm of the Orient and designed by a family she describes as “besotted by paper”.
“My great-grandfather founded our paper business 120 years ago, and my 88-year-old grandfather and his brothers still work every day in the office,” says Yates.
