Behind the label: O'2nd

Husband and wife team Gene Kang and Hanii Yoon launched O'2nd in 1997 as a sister brand to their more formal Obzee line. While not as well known as the prolific duo's other labels - Y & Kei and Hanii Y among them - O'2nd's relaxed shapes have made it an up-and-coming favourite among young women.

with their other, more distinguished labels giving Kang and Yoon credence in the industry, O'2nd seems to be the fun outlet for the duo. Classic silhouettes blended with mismatched colours give a sense of ordered chaos. It's a welcome change from all-too-serious fashion.

their initial 2013 offerings are split between a bright-and-bold spring-summer collection and an earthy, rough-and-ready resort collection. From the former, the oversized jacket (above right; HK$5,550) has a relaxed approach to formality, with its lack of lapels and denim-print fabric, while the black dress (above centre; HK$4,420) has intriguing hints of grey and white. From the resort collection, the lovely free-flowing dress (above left; HK$3,990) uses a bold, geometric pattern.
