New…

The food scene is getting cray cray. There are so many restaurants opening or set to open in the coming weeks that I feel full just writing about them.

Like fish? Like meat? Head over to Fish & Meat (1-2/F, 32 Wyndham St., Central, 2565-6788), Maximal Concepts’ newest resto. Taking over the 3,500 square-foot space that used to be Sal Curioso, F&M is all about family-style plates, heavily focused on seafood. Pan-fried baby Spanish octopus, roasted Alaskan cod, and pan-fried sea bream are some of the dishes on offer.

Speaking of seafood, The Luxe Seafood Bar & Resto (Shop 12, 12/F, Langham Place, 8 Argyle St., Mong Kok, 3184-0088) takes a slightly different approach, offering glammed-up brasserie dishes and fusion fare from all over the world—basically, chef Leo Kam cooks up whatever he feels like. This means Surf & Turf tacos, blue mussels with baguette, pan-fried Chilean seabass, and lots of shellfish.

Another steak-frites alert: La Vache (48 Peel St., Central, 2880-0248) by Black Sheep Restaurants. Inspired by the Le Relais de l’Entrecôte chain from Paris, LV is a brasserie-style space that specializes in the classic European dish.

Pulled pork, ribs and all things Southern can be found at 85 South (G/F, 6-10 Kau U Fong, Central).

Aqua group’s Zafran (B/F, 43-55 Wyndham St., Central, 2116-8855) continues the tapas trend with a basement bar-slash-restaurant on Wyndham. Enjoy acorn-fed Iberico and salted cod fritters while you bop to latin beats.
