The Barbarians Set to Meet Fans Prior to Rugby Match
Rugby players from the The Barbarians will be appearing at a meet-and-greet with fans this week, just days prior to their highly anticipated game against the British and Irish Lions, right here in Hong Kong.
Dig out your rugby shirt and get ready to relieve a little bit of Rugby Sevens madness, because on June 1, the Lions will be playing the Barbarians, right here in Hong Kong, one of the tour's major stops on the 2013 tour to Australia.
For the uninitiated, the Barbarians is an invitational team of world-famous rugby veterans, while the Lions is an all-star team of players from the English, Irish, Scottish and Welsh rugby unions. With these two teams competing against each other at Hong Kong Stadium, the game is set to be a nail-biter for Hong Kong rugby fans.
Want to get into the rugby spirit early? Delaney's and Guinness will be hosting the Barbarians in a meet-and-greet on Tuesday, May 28. The team will be at the pub from 6pm to 7pm and entry is free. Rub shoulders with rugby greats such as New Zealand’s Nick Evans, James Hook of Wales, and Hong Kong’s very own Rowan Varty. Have a chat, collect some autographs and have a beer with your rugby heroes.
Fans looking to get in on the excitement can check out the Hong Kong Rugby Football Union website.
