Wedding Venues
There’s no shortage of classy, quirky and romantic wedding venues, writes Jane Li.

The Peak Lookout
Classically romantic and packed with charm, The Peak Lookout is an extremely popular wedding venue, thanks in no small part to its beautiful garden terrace, paved with flagstones and immaculately maintained greenery. The venue itself is capable of holding up to 200 guests, and can help provide live entertainment and decoration. The cuisine served is comfortingly colonial, with everything from Asian, Indian to western available, as well as fresh seafood and open-flame barbeque items, if you’re after a more casual event.

The Pawn
Continuing the heritage theme, The Pawn (formerly a pawnshop and now converted into a restaurant serving modern British cuisine) is an unexpectedly romantic and private option right in the middle of Wan Chai. Its rooftop terrace can hold up to 150 guests for an intimate cocktail reception, or you can opt for a banquet in the private dining area on the 2nd floor. The executive chef can create a special menu for the occasion.

Top Deck
Anyone who’s been out to Top Deck for a leisurely Sunday brunch will know that lounging on one of their many outdoor recliners with a glass of champagne in hand is pretty hard to beat. Located on the top floor of the Jumbo Floating Restaurant in Aberdeen, this sprawling venue is decorated in nouveau Chinese style, and is perfect for alfresco ceremonies and dinners, with spectacular views of the Aberdeen marina. It holds up to 300 guests for dinner and 700 for a cocktail party.

The Gold Coast Hotel
Yes, it’s out in Tuen Mun, but with a lack of alfresco options in Hong Kong, this seaside hotel might be one of your best bets for a truly secluded, open-air white wedding. The ceremony takes place in an 83,000 square foot garden (and yes, you’re allowed to walk on the grass), before guests move into the well-appointed marquee for dinner afterwards. Western, Asian and even Greek ceremonies can all be catered for, with up to 700 guests for dinner. The hotel offers several wedding packages to cater to all tastes and budgets.
