TURN-ONS The almejas en salsa verde (clams, white wine, olive oil, garlic, parsley, butter) were a treat. The clams were fresh and the sauce perfectly balanced with neither the garlic nor olive oil overpowering any of the other elements. The gambas al ajillo arrived on an attractive, searing hot cast iron skillet, the garlic sauce pleasantly bubbling and emitting a wonderful aroma. The prawns were of a decent size and imbued with a strong garlicky flavour that we appreciated.
Although we were expecting the croquetas de jamón to be larger in size than the dinky little balls served, they tasted excellent. The shell was perfectly crisp and the creamy filling inside piping hot. The patatas bravas served as a great little snack. Although fried, the potato cubes were not greasy and the spicy tomato sauce had just enough kick without burning our mouths.
