Film review: Triumph in the Skies - not as good as the TV series
Has anyone scored on the plane? That might at least have explained the title of Triumph in the Skies. But although its protagonists are clad in airline uniforms, the film's focus on fluffy romantic tales barely qualifies it as an aviation drama.

Starring: Louis Koo Tin-lok, Sammi Cheng Sau-man, Francis Ng Chun-yu
Directors: Wilson Yip Waishun, Matt Chow Hoi-kwong

Has anyone scored on the plane? That might at least have explained the title of Triumph in the Skies. But although its protagonists are clad in airline uniforms, the film's focus on fluffy romantic tales barely qualifies it as an aviation drama.
Co-directed by Wilson Yip Wai-shun and Matt Chow Hoi-kwong, this TVB spin-off has upped its gloss factor, with Louis Koo Tin-lok and Sammi Cheng Sau-man lending star power, and London and Brighton offering some gorgeous scenery.
So it's a shame the three derivative storylines — each of which focuses on a would-be couple — are all striking cases of narrative convenience.
